School Action for inmates, former inmates and probationers’ children

For inmates, former inmates and probationers’ children, today at the Entertainment Center “Mickey’s House” a School Action was held. Socially unprotected and multi-children families were granted with stationery items: notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, bags and other inventory necessary for school. In the frame of the actions, the gifts were also granted to kindergarten children, meeting a new academic year happy with hopes and enthusiasm.

The children happy with presents enjoyed themselves with entertainment program and tasted the sweets. On Sunday, September 15, in the frame of an action the children will attend a Premier at Batumi State Puppet and Young Spectators’ Theatre free of charge.

A School Action was held for the second time in the frame of the program for supporting former inmates, inmates’ families and probationers. Project consists of various components, among them one of the major directions being supporting education and employment for former inmates and probationers, as well as their family members.

Program for supporting former inmates, inmates’ families and probationers has been implemented by the Institute of Democracy since February, 2017 in four regions of Georgia: Ajara, Guria, Samegrelo and Upper Svaneti and Imereti Regions. The Institute of Democracy has been implementing the project in cooperation with partner organizations - Guria Youth Resource Center, Tanaziari and Foundation “Abkhazinterkont”.
