About Programme

Grant Programme of the Institute of Democracy involves the following two strategic directions:

  1. Support of starter NGOs acting in Adjara region by issuing small grants, technical assistance and promoting to its institutional development.
  2. Awarding diligent students o the Academic Centre founded by the Institute of Democracy with “Academic Grants”;

Grant Programme is functioning within the current EU funded Project “Development of Non-State Sector Potential, Resource and - Capability”.

At the first stage the Grant Programme will finance the projects of organizations selected on he contestant basis, having no experience of implementing grant project due to various reasons, or have an experience of implementing small-budget projects.

A primary condition of the Grant Contest is that applying organization must be registered as non-commercial (non-entrepreneurial) union during the last four years as well as at the times of Announcing the Contest. Priorities of the Grant Contest are set by the Institute of Democracy on the basis of purposefully conducted surveys, evaluation ad social, economic and political situation existing in the country/region.

Rules, conditions and all the relevant procedures to participate in the Grant Contest are set by the Institute of Democracy, which are available in the current contests.
