Professional Development of Viticulturists in Keda Municipality

Project Title: Professional development of viticulturists in Keda municipality

Project Aim: Through cooperation between VET colleges and the private sector, developing of short-term training and / or retraining WBL course in the field of winemaking and viticulture.

Project beneficiaries: The direct beneficiaries of the project are vocational training and / or retraining students, including viticulturist-winemaker farmers from both Keda and neighboring municipality Shuakhevi, start-up winemakers and / or young people with secondary education.

Project Outputs:

1. The Institute of Democracy and Vocational College “Black Sea”, with the involvement of field specialists and education experts, have developed a short-term training and / or retraining course in viticulture and winemaking, considering the specific characteristics of agriculture in Ajara region and wine production from local varieties of grapes.

2. The right to carry out the professional training and / or retraining course developed within the framework of the project is obtained by the LEPL Vocational College "Black Sea" through work-based learning (WBL) in Keda Municipality.

3. There is a small wine laboratory in Keda Municipality, which is an integral part of the professional course, and will also be used for consulting winemakers in the municipality.

4. Local farmers and their farms are involved in the work-based learning process.

5. There are qualified viticulturists and / or winemakers in the region.
