The Institute of Democracy working ion the program supporting former inmates, inmates’ families and probationers responds to the evaluation by the President of the NGO “Georgian Alliance for safe roads” in relation to the issue, according to which taxi drivers should not have previous convictions and be dangerous to the society https://bit.ly/2y62J2N

​When, under the state initiative and EU support a number of programs are being implemented in the country aiming at total integration of the individuals in conflict with law into the society and their employment, we consider that the announces with similar content lacking argumentation and strengthens formation of stereotyped and incorrect attitude towards the persons with previous convictions. With similar evaluations we make the society understand that the persons with previous convictions do not represent a danger to the society and their employment is risky, we by our estimation is incorrect and discriminative attitude.
