Excursion organized for former inmates in Imereti

Former inmate, inmates’ family members and probationers from Ajara, Guria, Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti and Imereti region gathered for sightseeing purpose on one sunny day.

Adventurous route from Okatse Canyon proved to be full with emotions and impressions. Almost 2-hour walking tour of the canyon was launched in historical forest-park. Through passing an exotic environment of the forest the visitors walked along the hanging path and took memorable photos at the panoramic background.

Prometheus Cave in Tsklatubo was the next location.

The visitors excited with a magic show created in 40m depth from the surface passed 2-km long path without even noticing the distance. During a guided tour they visited fairy halls of Argonauts, Medea, Kolkheti, Prometheus and Iberia, having listened to the history of their origin.

The Selfies taken at the background of the waterfalls, special stalactites, stalagmites were added to everyone’s family albums. The boat trip and exit from the cave in a navigated way was the biggest impression for the beneficiaries.

Final part of the excursion was visiting one of the significant parts of Georgian Culture – Motsameta Monastery. Some of them preyed in the prayer’s site, where others took memorable photos and returned to their regions blessed by the priest of the Monastery.

The beneficiaries of the Institute of Democracy, Guria Youth Resource Center, Tanaziari and Foundation “Abkhazinterkont” took part in the excursion. Cultural-educational event was organized in the frame of EU-funded project supporting Former Inmates, Inmates’ Families and Probationers.
