The Institute of Democracy organized a New Year Event for former inmates and inmates’ family members.
With the support of the Supermarket Willmart the families of economically deprived inmates were granted with New Year gifts.
Coordinator of the project strengthening former inmates Nino Khachidze talks about importance of business sector in similar actions and their corporate responsibility.
We offered the representatives of “Willmart” to get involved in the action and they agreed with pleasure. Today, McDonalds offered free entertainment program to children. The representatives of Willmart accompanied us to the families and visited large families. I think that personal contacts are very important.
Gradually, business in Georgia sees that Social Responsibility can lead to many changes for deprived families.
Everyone must try to involve their businesses in similar activities. This must be formed as a vision, informal policy and approach, so that to take a regular character. This will lead to increasing brand recognition and building more trust from the customers’ side towards them. Almost all firms have charity budget abroad, which also takes on in our country”.
Frank emotions, warmth and joy were expressed by the children of former inmates’ involved in the Action. The children gathered at the Institute of Democracy office were granted wit New Year trees, toys and sweets, also being hosted with New Year Tart.
Later, they moved to their favorite Macdonalds Batumi, where they got entertained and had fun in the children area.
New Year Action was held in the frame of the program supporting former inmates, inmates’ families and probationers. The project is being implemented by the Institute of Democracy together with partner organizations in four regions.
New Year Event will be also organized for the beneficiaries involved in the project in Imereti, Guria and Samegrelo – Upper Svaneti region. The Action in the regions together with the Institute of Democracy will be also organized by partner organizations: “Abkhazinterkont”, Guria Youth Resource Center and Foundation Abkhazinterkont.
