Training on Effective Communication for former inmates

At the Institute of Democracy, a training on job-seeking and effective communication was held for former inmates and probationers.

Training program considered development of skills for effective communication, development of CV and Cover letter, as well as preparation guide for the first encounter with the employer.

“I would like to open a Kindergarten in the future, being equipped with modern standards and Educational process being funny and interesting for the children. I have not thought about designing a Page where a Kindergarten Advertising would be placed. I learned much new information at the training, which I will apply in my future activity”.

“I am an artisan, with 10 year-long work experience, during which my work was always loved by all employers. I have never advertised myself, though after the trainings I am planning to create my own page, introducing me with the public as a good artisan”.

Similar evaluations were left at the end of the trainings by the listeners. Majority of attendants decided to advertise their own business during the training, jointly discussing webs-sites and advertisements of various business companies through practical assignments.

After preparing some practical works upon highlighting one’s own business via Internet Resources, a rather significant and interesting second session was launched for the listeners.

How to write a CV and Cover Letter? How to behave ourselves and talk with the first encounter with the employer?

At the second session, the trainers talked about various job searching methods, jointly discussing the approaches by the Employment Agency and requirements in Georgia as well as abroad.

Foreign trainer from the Peace Corps Leisha Sommers shared international knowledge and experience for job searching and highlighting one’s own business.

The training was held in the frame of the program for supporting former inmates, ignites’ families and probationers with the financial support from the European Union in cooperation with partner organizations “Guria Youth Resource Center”, “Tanaziari” and Foundation Abkhazinterkont.
