With the purpose of rehabilitation of former inmates, inmates' family members and probationers the project foresees supporting beneficiaries' employment and self-employment.

Bringing the Local Regulation in compliance with the regulation by the Government of Georgia, limiting application of public spaces and lack of green coverage – were main arguments, due to which the initiators requested proposing amendments in the Regulation

Everyone makes a mistake once in a lifetime

42 year-old Koba Pipia is living together with the family in the village Chkhvaleri, Tsalenjikha. He has old-aged parents and two sons. He started working on wooden items after graduation from school together with grandfather, therefore he has not mastered any profession so far. Currently, being unemployed with production and realization of wooden items

Former inmates' Jewelry workshop

After release from prison they have arranged a small workshop, having purchased working tools and returning to the old business. With the support of Institute of Democracy project on Strengthening Former Inmates they purchased enamel oven.

Problem of employing former inmates

Why do former inmates choose self-employment and why do the individuals released from custody have difficulty in getting employed? 

There are many preventative factor, the social worker working on rehabilitation and re-socialization of the former inmates say that they have difficulty to employ former inmates either in state or non-state sector.

Petition Zebra for arranging the crosswalks

There are no marked Zebra crosswalks and speed-limiting barriers on the streets, which creates danger for movement of the children and adults.

Former Inmate's Family Enterprise

Merab Mikeladze is one of the persons producing items for the exhibition. At first, he saw and liked the souvenirs made from seashells at Batumi Boulevard. The idea soon was converted into reality and he himself started a handiwork. He is still keeping the first work and specially loves it.

Launching of electronic referral system of the petitions in Keda

The individuals registered in Keda will no longer need to prepare the petitions, collect the signatures and bring their own petitions to the Municipality.  The petition with which the local requested launching of electronic referral of the petitions has been positively considered by the Municipal Assembly and relevant Decision was taken. 

Four New petitions registered at Batumi Municipal Assembly

Part of the individuals registered in Batumi consider that after visiting state or private institutions on the scale of the city  parking of non-municipal bicycles and ensuring their security represents a significant problem. Therefore, study, review and settlement of allocation and arrangement of non-municipal parking sites on the territory of Batumi Municipality is demanded from Batumi Municipality at the Session of the Municipal Assembly. It is said that this will settle traffic problems in the city and improve an ecological state.

Free medical examination for former inmates

In the frame of the Medical Action, 15 former inmates were provided with cardiology examinations and consultations free of charge. The Institute of Democracy will purchase the medicines prescribed by the doctor for the beneficiaries. A medical action was held with the support of the Ministry of Healthcare in Ajara.
