With the purpose of rehabilitation of former inmates, inmates' family members and probationers the project foresees supporting beneficiaries' employment and self-employment.

42 year-old Koba Pipia is living together with the family in the village Chkhvaleri, Tsalenjikha. He has old-aged parents and two sons. He started working on wooden items after graduation from school together with grandfather, therefore he has not mastered any profession so far. Currently, being unemployed with production and realization of wooden items
After release from prison they have arranged a small workshop, having purchased working tools and returning to the old business. With the support of Institute of Democracy project on Strengthening Former Inmates they purchased enamel oven.
Why do former inmates choose self-employment and why do the individuals released from custody have difficulty in getting employed?
There are many preventative factor, the social worker working on rehabilitation and re-socialization of the former inmates say that they have difficulty to employ former inmates either in state or non-state sector.
There are no marked Zebra crosswalks and speed-limiting barriers on the streets, which creates danger for movement of the children and adults.

In the frame of the Medical Action, 15 former inmates were provided with cardiology examinations and consultations free of charge. The Institute of Democracy will purchase the medicines prescribed by the doctor for the beneficiaries. A medical action was held with the support of the Ministry of Healthcare in Ajara.
