Skills for Employment and Cooperation - Perspectives for the Regions of Georgia

Project Objective: Improve the employment opportunities of vulnerable groups in the community through sectoral partnership incentives, entrepreneurship education and the introduction of innovative approaches to contribute to the economic development of the project target regions.

Project beneficiaries:

✓ Those without professional education and employment skills;

✓ Those who have certain labor skills but are unable to meet the requirements of the labor market. Do not have appropriate education;

✓ Low-income families who do not have the financial resources for professional development;

✓Women face educational, social and economic obstacles;

✓ Small and medium businesses;

✓ Training providers, consulting organizations;

✓ Students;

✓ IDPs in Samegrelo.

Equal involvement of people and women with disabilities, as well as gender equality and planning for gender-sensitive activities will be a priority at each stage of the project.

Project activities:

• Employment market needs research will be conducted;

• WBL component will be introduced;

• Non-formal education programs will be implemented;

• Strengthen local businesses, implement a strategic grant program for existing businesses;

• Entrepreneurship skills training program will be implemented, will be supported business initiatives of vulnerable groups;

• A summer school will be held for students interested in rural economic development. A sub-grant program will be implemented for summer school participants;

• A business cluster will be established in each region, which will unite representatives of different sectors;

• A study visit to Germany will be organized;

• Three social enterprises will be established (one in each region);

The project "Skills for Employment and Cooperation - Perspectives for the Regions of Georgia" is implemented by Guria Youth Resource Center with the financial support of the European Union together with Institute of Democracy, the Georgian Farmers' Association and the Atinati Association.
