“Regional Network for Cooperation and Development” is public organization acting in Ajara, working in the direction of supporting popularization of higher education in high-mountainous municipalities as well as re-integration of the eco-migrants resettled from Ajara.
The project being implemented with the support of the Institute of Democracy in Ajara region considers activation of community unions of eco-migrants families living in Ajara in Tetritskaro Municipality.
Eco-migrants living in Tetritskaro Municipality are constantly suffering from social problems, such as drinking water, unsettlement of rural-agricultural and infrastructural issues. Under the conditions of lack of advocacy of social problems, lack of political activation is also among the list of eco-migrants’ problems living in the municipality.
To support activation of eco-migrants’ community groups, increasing their direct involvement in the process of defining the political agendas in local municipalities is planned.
To study the problems of the eco-migrants resettled in three communities of Tetritskaro Municipality a targeted survey will be conducted. After the survey results settlement of the problems will be planned at the local level.
The Institute of Democracy supports strengthening of starter NGOs and initiative groups working on the issues of eco-migration. “Regional Network for Cooperation and Development” was financed within the frame of the project supported by the European Union “Campaign for Advocacy of Eco-migrant and potential eco-migrant families”.
