On warm mornings, jalousie doors in the building opposite my balcony were open. In cloudy weather – they were closed.
I often saw a lab coat through the open doors and I realized this was not an ordinary house.

...
One day, on my way to work, I decided to walk along the street next to the building; while passing the building, I noticed a sign – House for the Elderly.

...
Before I left for Spain to work in a Social Media Internship, I had been working on elderly issues in my country of Georgia at the NGO “The Institute of Democracy”. Since then, my interest and sympathy towards the Elderly has been remarkably increased.
...
Some days, as I walked through the street from home to work and vice versa, I often saw children, young people and the elderly together in the yard having fun.

...
One day, as I passed the House, I went up to the balcony. An administrative staff courteously asked me who I was visiting. Suddenly, one of the elderly ladies exclaimed joyfully: "Mi prima!” – “My cousin!” and I went to hug her.
Then I told the administrator that I wanted to visit everyone in his facility; I wanted to know how the elderly live in Spain in order to share it with people in my country.

...
He was Benjamin Estrada, the manager of the Elderly House, a very good communicator and a warm-hearted specialist in elderly care issues. Benjamin has profound feelings when he meets people with big hearts; these are volunteers who always have space for selfless love towards the elderly.

...
Children and adolescent volunteers often come here, showing selfless love, making seniors joyful with performing arts.

...
In addition to the volunteers, the administration is proud of the professional staff. Many of the residents need special care and medical treatment due to their poor health and the staff provides this in a professional and caring manner. The house is for 23 people, and per local standards, it is equipped with all the necessary medical resources. Cases of elderly discrimination and violence cases are rare in this region.
...
Due to the good medical and household conditions, this facility is in high-demand. As the administration says, to increase the number of patients, space, human and medical resources should also be increased so that all beneficiaries receive quality care. To alleviate this problem, a new center is planned in the municipality.
...
70% of the elderly house is supported by the Municipality. The remainder is covered by the elderly resident’s pension.
...
Carmen was in such a joyful mood when I met her. She loves singing and watching children playing in the yard from her window.
...
Gala Villar Gomez is one of those big-hearted youngsters; she has a special love for the elderly. That’s why she works here and feels herself at home. Gala made me feel the same too.
